Tickets that require a Metro Bilbao Card

Kidea Member Card:for Monthly and Super 50 tickets.

Gaztea Youth Card: for youth tickets.

Gizatrans Card: for Gizatrans tickets.

Obtaining cards:
Any person who wishes to obtain or renew a Metro Bilbao card must go to one of the four Customer Service Offices (17, Ibaigane Str. at Areeta, San Inazio Station, Casco Viejo Station and Ansio Station). You are not required to come personally; another person may come on your behalf.

Requirements for obtaining a Metro Bilbao Card are:

• One recent colour photograph (essential if the person who comes to the office is not the card holder).
• Original National Id Card (A driving license or passport will also be accepted).
• 3 euros.
• In the case of Gizatrans Cards, the original resolution or certificate proving permanent disability, great disability or a disability in excess or equal to 65% must be produced.
• People under the age of 14 who do not have a National Id. Card must provide the original "Libro de Familia" (Spanish document which includes information on all members of a family) together with their mother's, father's or tutor's National Id. Card.

Cards renewal:
Cards are renewed at the offices for the following reasons:

• Loss and robbery:
  In these cases a payment of 3 euros is required. If other documentation has also been lost (National Id. Card, etc.) the "Libro de Familia" or the police report on the loss or robbery must be produced for identification purposes.
• Deterioration:
  If deterioration is attributable to the customer, the 3 euro fee is charged; if not, ticket replacement is free.

Issue of certain tickets

Youth Tickets and Large Family Tickets may only be purchased at Customer Service Offices. In order to obtain the latter, the Large Family certificate or approved photocopy must be presented.

Ticket exchange and replacement

Tickets can be exchanged/replaced (due to loss or robbery, deterioration, due to temporary or final extension of zones or zone change) and cancelled at Customer Service Offices. These offices share with the stations the functions concerning the exchange of tickets due to deterioration not attributable to the customer as well as cancellations.

Lost property

Lost property will be kept for one or two days at the stations where the property is found or handed in. After that period, lost property is centralised at the San Inazio Customer Service Office. When you go to a station to ask about a lost object, station staff will contact the said Customer Service Office before asking the customer to proceed to the said office.

Member

Expiry: 5 years
Personal and non-transferable.
In order to obtain the Metro Member Card, you must present the following documentation at any Customer Service Office (17, Ibaigane Str. at Areeta, San Inazio Station, Casco Viejo Station and Ansio Station):

• Original National Id Card.
• One photograph.
• 3 euros.

In the event of deterioration that is attributable to the customer, loss or robbery, a duplicate card will cost 3 euros.

Youth

Expiry: 5 years
Personal and non-transferable.
In order to obtain the Metro Youth Card, you must present the following documentation at any Customer Service Office (17, Ibaigane Str. at Areeta, San Inazio Station, Casco Viejo Station and Ansio Station):

• Original National Id Card.
• One photograph.
• 3 euros.

Gizatrans Card

Gizatrans Membership Cards can be purchased at

• Metro Bilbao Customer Service Offices
• The BTC Customer Service Office at San Mamés
• Bilbobus Offices (Francesc Macíá nº 4, Deusto)
• District Offices of Bilbao Municipal Council (only until February 29, 2008 and by prior appointment arranged with the Council)

Documentation required

• Original ID card or passport
• Recent photo
• 3 euros
• Accreditation of disability level of at least 65% when relevant
• Cards are prepared and handed over immediately

The Gizatrans Membership Card costs 3 euros, but is provided free of charge in exchange for current Carnet Plus or Bilbao Municipal Council cards.

Current Metro Bilbao Carnet Plus and Euskotren reduced rate cards can be used to purchase Gizatrans tickets.
