Maintenance

Maintenance operations on the Metro Bilbao units are performed at the Sopelana and Ariz Rolling Stock Depots.

The depots are divided into two areas:

• Electricity - electronics
• Mechanics - pneumatics.

All maintenance work is performed with in-house equipment and is based on three criteria: predictive maintenance operations, corrective maintenance operations and preventive maintenance operations.

• Predictive maintenance includes the analysis of oil in reducers and the study of vibrations in air-conditioning compressors.
• Corrective maintenance deals with the repair of systems and equipment.
• Preventive maintenance is based on revisions performed in relation with the mileage covered.

The installations of the Rolling Stock Depots include the necessary equipment to perform all required maintenance operations appropriately.
